It is my distinct pleasure to announce the promotion of Rosario Ruiz-Velasco to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Rosario was formerly our Controller and has been able to accomplish remarkable things in the time that she has been with us. We are indeed fortunate to have such a highly qualified and dedicated individual in the position of CFO. Rosario has more then demonstrated her abilities to not only oversee the Finance Department, but provide the Board with concise information and help make sound financial decisions that will make this company stronger.

It is a pleasure to announce the appointment of Mike Bermudez to the position of Managing Director of Global Security and Training. Mike was formerly Managing Director of High Desert Special Operations Center and was serving in an acting capacity in Global Security. We are indeed fortunate to have such a highly qualified and dedicated individual in the company who can step in and contribute immediately to our mission and high standards of operations. Mike is very knowledgeable and experienced on force protection and training requirements in high threat and high risk areas.
Mike served in Iraq as a Program Manager and Director of Operations/Training for DynCorp under the Department of State WPPS Program.He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern Florida. Mike served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel where he held several business analyst positions.
Frederic M. Piry recently joined SOC as the Chief Operating Officer after 21 years of distinguished government service. For the US Department of State, he most recently served as Director of the Worldwide Personal Protective Security Program and as the Division Chief of High Threat Protection. Fred earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration and served with distinction in the US Marine Corps.
Fred developed and ran the Department of State’s high threat protective operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, Bosnia and Haiti.Fred has managed the protective operations of foreign presidents and dignitaries both domestically and overseas in high threat areas.During his career he has traveled around the world and worked in over 120 countries.He served in Beirut, Lebanon for two tours developing security strategies to ensure the protection of the US Embassy and its’ personnel. He served as Special Agent in Charge of the Secretary of State Madeline Albright’s protective detail and accompanied her during her foreign and domestic travels.
Fred is an expert in the areas of counterterrorism and international operations and carries his experience from the Anti-terrorism Assistance Program and Protective Intelligence Office. He was an integral member in the investigation and capture of the World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef, the East African Embassy bombing, Kobar Towers building, the Peru hostage taking and the triple homicide of the embassy employees in Haiti.He is the recipient of The Medal of Valor, the highest award within the Department of State.
